Chapter 4

-What legal issues have been involved with fast food franchises?
Legal matters that have been involved with the fast food franchises are the fact that encroachment was being seen more and more. Laws were created to stop this from happening. The government regulates encroachment but nothing more.


-In what particular legal action has the Subway fast food franchise been involved? (100-102)
Subway had an unusual way of recruiting and people thought that it was unfair. They used development agents to recruit franchisees.

 

Chapter 3

Why haven't fast food workers unionized and what tactics have management used to defeat union efforts? 

They haven't unionized because they know if they do they will be weaker by themselves and they could get fired. To defeat the unions companies created "Flying squads". This is a group of experienced managers that were sent to restaurants wherever unions where suspected.
 

Summary

  • The article talks about Guantanamo Bays presence on america and the controversy it has raised in politics. Th controversy was based on the system that Guantanamo was built on and the inability of president Obama to fix it due to his predecessor President Bush. Many prisoners held there were terrorist usually tortured to get information out of them. However methods used at prison has stopped and will no be applied on future prisoners.
